About The Event

This guided walk is offered FREE of charge, with all donations going to the British Red Cross.

The River Thames has always been a silent observer of Westminster. It carries with it the echos of the past and hides many of its secrets within its murky depths. It has witnessed the building of Westminster Abbey, the destruction and rebuilding of the Palace of Westminster. It has carried prisoners on the first part of their journey to Australia and Monarchs fleeing for safety. The history of Westminster unfolds through the stories of life beside the river. It is the artery that has shaped the Westminster that we see today. Join me on this walk beside the river, past the site of the old Millbank Prison, The Tate Britain, Lambeth Bridge and the old Horse Ferry, Westminster Abbey, The Palace of Westminster and Westminster Bridge finishing opposite the London Eye.
